In the 1980s, when the giant American flags on New York City’s bridges had fallen into disrepair, Trump offered to help fund their replacement. Around the same time, he even publicly offered to help repair New York’s deteriorating Williamsburg Bridge when city officials said they lacked the resources.

Decades later, as President, he personally paid for two 100-foot flagpoles to be installed on the White House grounds because he believed America’s most iconic residence should display the American flag more prominently.

One thing about our President that has remained remarkably consistent for over 40 years:
Donald Trump has always believed the American flag should be flown proudly, prominently, and without apology.
