Auction for Purchasing Limited Gifts in Telegram

In the Beta version of Telegram for iOS 12.2 (31682), a new mechanism for distributing gifts via auction has been discovered.

How the auction currently works:

• 50 gifts are distributed at different intervals among the top 50 participants with the highest bids. 
• If a bid drops out of the top 50, it is automatically carried over to the next draw. 
• If a bid does not win after the final draw, the stars are fully refunded.

At the moment, the auction applies to newly released gifts. Whether the system will also work for previously upgraded gifts is still unknown.

The feature is under development and currently works only on the test server. Its behavior may change in the future.
