Custom emojis

In Beta version of Telegram for Android, the emoji panel has been updated.

The standard emoji categories are now collapsed into a carousel, and the rest of the panel space will be used in the future to scroll through custom emoji sets.

The update will allow you to use stickers as emojis inside text messages. There will be both animated sets by the Telegram team, and custom sets from ordinary users — static and video emojis.

It is likely that only Premium users will be able to use custom emoji sets.

In Beta version of Telegram for Android, you can see an item with custom emojis in the "Stickers and Emojis" settings section.

The tab will allow you to organize emojis in the panel, copy the link to emoji packs, archive and delete them.

Only Premium subscribers will be able to use third-party emojis.

Quickly add and remove emoji packs

In Beta version of Telegram for Android, you can now add and remove several sets of emojis that were used in a message, all at once.

To quickly add all the sets (or some of them) present in the text, you need to expand the menu by clicking on the bubble, and then go to the list of used emoji sets.

Reminder: The vast majority of custom emoji packs are available only to Premium users.

Creating custom emoji sets via @Stickers

In Beta version of Telegram for macOS, you can create your own emoji sets using the official @Stickers bot.

Currently, the bot does not have the ability to create sets and does not include information regarding the requirements for uploading emoji.

It is not yet known whether custom emoji packs will be available to everyone or only to Telegram Premium subscribers.

In Beta version of Telegram for macOS, you now see a search bar in the emoji section that lets you search emotions.

The results will include both standard emojis and animated sets.
