Since the launch of TON Space, Wallet now offers non-custodial, self-storage for your cryptocurrency. Today, we’ll explain what this means and explore the advantages of both your standard Wallet and TON Space.

Custodial service

Think of this service like a traditional bank – only you and your trusted financial institution, acting as the guarantor of your data security, have access to your funds. Your standard Wallet operates as a custodial service like this, providing these advantages:

● Simplicity and convenience. Perfect for quick coin exchanges or sending TON to contacts on Telegram (directly in a chat and without fees).
● Security and account recovery. Includes the ability to recover your account in case of access loss, thanks to the securely stored private key.
● P2P Market. Easily buy or sell crypto with other Wallet users. Give it a try – it’s easy: market.

Non-custodial service

TON Space, on the other hand, is a non-custodial service – meaning all transactions occur on the blockchain. This approach has its own advantages:

● Control. You have complete control over your funds, and you are the sole guarantor of the safety of your seed phrase (but it is possible to make a backup copy).
● TON Ecosystem support. Allows you to manage your collectibles (NFTs), jettons, and exchange them.
● Gateway to Web3. Connect to a variety of Web3 services directly through Telegram.

🔒 Strengthening your account's security: choosing a password, two-factor authentication, and more

On Telegram, you'll find nearly all your security options in the "Privacy and Security" section. You can access it directly through the messenger's settings. Now, let’s dive into the platform’s fundamental security features:

● Two-Step Verification. This serves as an extra layer of security for your account. It prompts you to enter a password every time you log in from a new device. Rest assured, this password isn't stored on your device and is securely encrypted.
● Passcode Lock. Setting a PIN code means Telegram will request a 4-digit code each time you open the app. You also have the flexibility to customize how frequently it requests your code, whether it’s constantly or, for example, every 10 minutes.
● Never share your authorization code. It might seem obvious, but we'll emphasize it: never, ever share your Telegram authorization code with anyone, not even the Telegram team.
● Check the "Devices" section. This section displays all the devices with access to your Telegram account. See something suspicious? Remove it from the list immediately!
● Increase your Identification level. Verification will help you get access to your Wallet again even if you have lost access to your Telegram account.

We’ve made some changes to our P2P Market! Sellers, or makers, can now receive a “Trusted Merchant” status, and you’ll notice their profiles marked with a blue check!

What are the benefits?

The “Trusted Merchant” status allows sellers to receive a verification badge, gives them the ability to set their own nickname, as well as access new features ahead of everyone else!

How can I get one?

We’ve noted down the full set of requirements in our FAQ, but here are the main ones:

● Total sales monthly turnover in the P2P Marketplace should be no less than 10,000 EUR. Please note that the equivalent turnover on other P2P platforms is also acceptable (it needs to be confirmed by our Support).
● A minimum of 95% successful transactions for all time.
● No violations of service rules in the last 60 days.
● Successful KYC verification.

By the 10th of each month, we’ll review user statistics from the previous month and update statuses on the P2P Market. If you meet all the requirements, your profile will receive its new status the following month. See you on the P2P Market!💱

Since the release of TON Space, you are now able to store and send Collectibles right within Telegram using your non-custodial Wallet. Today, we’ll explain what this all means and how you can start engaging with Collectibles in your favorite messenger!

What are Collectibles?

Collectibles (or NFTs) are non-fungible asset tokens. Each token is unique and gives its holder absolute property rights to the item represented by the NFT.

For instance, every Telegram username and virtual phone number available on Fragment is a unique digital item, counting as a non-fungible token or NFT.

How can I manage my Collectibles in TON Space?

It’s really simple! Just open your Wallet and go to TON Space. On the home page you’ll be able to see all your Collectibles – you can open each one and explore its specific characteristics. If you don’t have any Collectibles yet, visit Getgems – they have a huge selection and their marketplace is fully compatible with TON Space.

✈️ Buying and selling Collectibles in Telegram

We recently explained what Collectibles are and how to manage them in your non-custodial Wallet space. Today, we’ll show you how to buy and sell Collectibles in Telegram.

If you don’t own any Collectibles yet – it’s time to visit Getgems! But for now, let’s talk about how you can sell your Collectibles (or buy new ones) using TON Space:

● Firstly, you need to go to getgems.io from a mobile device and log in using TON Space.
● List your Collectible for sale on the marketplace. If you don’t know how to do this, Getgems has prepared a detailed guide.
● Open your Wallet in Telegram and head over to TON Space. In the “Collectibles” section, select the Collectible you want to list for sale and click on the blue arrow to the right (the “Share” button). The link to the collection will be copied to your clipboard.

It’s done – now you can share this link with any user in Telegram or post it in a Collectible community! By clicking on the link, a potential buyer will be able to view your Collectible, check out its characteristics, and immediately purchase it – all directly in Telegram 🔥

👛 TON address update

Following the recent TON network update, there has been a change in the format of most network addresses. You may already have noticed that your TON address has been slightly modified: the first two characters and the final four have been updated. Here's an example:

Do I need to take action?

No need to worry – Wallet has automatically updated your address for you. Thanks to backward compatibility, tokens sent to your old address will still find their way to your new address. However, for all future transfers, it’s a good practice to provide your updated address.

👛 Wallet continues it’s integration to the Telegram settings menu

In September, we announced plans to distribute Wallet to all Telegram users. Today, during The Gateway conference in Dubai, we're excited to announce that Wallet has now started its global rollout within the Telegram settings menu.

This is a big step towards our goal of making Web3 accessible to everyone. Telegram integration symbolizes our vision for mass adoption of products and services based on TON Blockchain and was previously confirmed by Telegram founder Pavel Durov.

The rollout will happen in stages. From today, Wallet will be available in the Telegram settings menu for users in some countries of Africa and Latin America. In Q1 2024, Wallet will expand to more regions, including MENA and Asia. By the end of Q2 2024, Wallet is expected to be accessible worldwide.

Wallet's integration into the Telegram's settings menu is a significant step toward making blockchain technology as user-friendly as possible. Telegram users in the selected regions will now have direct access to Wallet right within Telegram’s settings menu. That means, sending and storing crypto assets will be as simple as sending a picture within a chat. 🚀

🗿 Introducing swaps in TON Space

Today, all TON Space users have access to the swap feature, allowing them to buy a wide range of assets within Telegram. Swaps are provided in partnership with Ston.fi, a leading TON-based DEX, with future plans to offer them through a DEX aggregation in 2024. All TON Space users now have access to the following features:

● Jetton swaps directly within the TON Space.
● View in-depth information on each transaction, including rates, slippage and price impact.
● Access to the full set of jettons available from STON.fi pools.

You can now easily swap Toncoin 👛 for jUSDT 💰 or any other TON blockchain jetton with just a few taps, all within Telegram.

🙏 Jettons: What are they and what are they used for

In The Open Network Ecosystem, there are hundreds of different tokens. Unlike other blockchains, these tokens are called “jettons” in TON. Here we explain their advantages, how they differ from Toncoin, and where they can be most easily purchased:

● Toncoin is the main cryptocurrency of TON Blockchain.
● A jetton is a token issued on TON Blockchain.
● You can swap, store and send any jettons in TON Space.
● To perform any action with a jetton, such as making a transfer, you have to pay a small commission in Toncoin.

What are jettons used for?

Many services in TON Ecosystem have their own jettons. Typically, holding these jettons offers some advantages – for example, the PUNK jetton allows you to participate in closed tournaments, while the STON jetton gives you the right to receive exclusive digital Collectibles. Also, many jettons are used to store value and can be traded on various exchanges, like Ston.fi or DeDust.

How and where can I buy jettons?

The most convenient way to get some jettons is directly in Telegram. Wallet users can easily exchange jettons in TON Space. Just go into your non-custodial space, tap “Swap” and select the jettons you want! Wallet will automatically handle the rest of the exchange!💰
