Yesterday, we witnessed the beginning of largest airdrop in crypto history. 131M qualified users getting their paws on Hamster Tokens on TON. This moment sets an entirely new benchmark for what is possible onchain.
This massive surge in traffic did cause some third-party services to experience overloads resulting in a few delayed transactions. However, despite the heavy load, the TON blockchain has not missed a single block.
We are still seeing a growing influx of users, and the onchain activity is likely to continue growing in the coming days. It is still early days but the success so far demonstrates TON's resilience and capacity to support massive user onboarding.
