The 15th Parliament was sworn in today. In his opening address, President Tharman Shanmugaratnam set out the government’s priorities and direction for this new term. Delighted that the former Kandang Kerbau Hospital (KKH) has been gazetted as a national monument. 1.2 million babies were born here, including myself, my two siblings, my wife Ho Ching and my two older children. We were all safely delivered and cared for by the many doctors, midwives and nurses who staffed its wards, and provided excellent care over the years. – LHL
