Good to be back at Chatham House. I was last here in 2014. Spoke on trade, security, and the importance of multilateral cooperation. Also had an engaging dialogue on geopolitical and economic trends in this era of global uncertainty. Thank you to Chatham House for the warm welcome and thoughtful discussion. You can watch the session here: go.gov.sg/lhl-chathamhouse-2025.

Had a good visit to Imperial College London’s Schools of Convergence Science, to learn about their multi-disciplinary approach towards tertiary education. They bring together different fields to tackle complex global challenges. I also had a great time connecting with Singaporean students studying at Imperial. Hearing about their experiences, ambitions, and the projects they are involved in. May your years here be enriching and meaningful. go.gov.sg/xjk26k

Deeply saddened by the passing of National University of Singapore’s Emeritus Professor John Miksic last Saturday. Professor Miksic was a seminal figure in the field of archaeology in Southeast Asia. His work transformed our understanding of Singapore’s pre-colonial history.
My deepest condolences to Dr Miksic’s family and his loved ones. He will be remembered for his enduring contributions to the study of Singapore’s history and heritage. go.gov.sg/tvwlio

Spent Sunday morning with residents and fellow grassroots advisers from Ang Mo Kio GRC, as well as Jalan Kayu, Kebun Baru, and Yio Chu Kang SMCs, at the Ang Mo Kio Town Tree Planting and Grandparents’ Day! 🌳
Great to see families enjoying the activities and learning how we can care for our environment together. Each sapling planted brings us closer to a greener, more liveable Singapore. 🌱 go.gov.sg/tg5gm3

Caught up with activists and members at the annual People’s Action Party Awards and Convention this morning. Secretary-General Lawrence Wong reminded us that the PAP will continue to work hard to secure Singapore’s place in an increasingly uncertain and contested world. facebook.com/share/p/1CvyH4Yybb

Had an excellent discussion with Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa of East Java on the longstanding and fruitful ties between Singapore and her home province this afternoon.
While in Singapore, she will engage a wide range of public and private sector stakeholders on our cooperation with East Java. I am confident that her visit will open up new possibilities for further collaboration and mutual progress. go.gov.sg/mg1nfh

Tried the “mate” drink (kosong, or without sugar) before a gym workout in Buenos Aires last month. A healthy way to start the day! :) Taking less sugar and exercising are small but important steps to prevent diabetes. This World Diabetes Day, let us remind ourselves and our loved ones to stay active, build healthy eating habits, and work towards a #HealthierSG. go.gov.sg/k8z9dk
