It is important to emphasise that the NCDC does not provide test results to individuals.

Our role as Nigeria's national public health institute is to coordinate the communication of results between testing laboratories and States, who then communicate with individuals.

If government officials come to your area to identify contacts of confirmed #COVID19 cases, please don’t discriminate against those visited.

It is important to quickly test & treat patients to avoid further spread of the disease

Let's offer our support & #SayNoToStigma.

#TakeResponsibility
The information circulating on social media that prolonged use of face masks by healthy people may cause death, is FALSE.

Face masks can be safely used by healthy persons over the age of 2 years.

Please DO NOT remove your mask in public spaces. This can lead to spread of #COVID19.
When cloth masks are not handled properly, they can facilitate the spread of infectious diseases like #COVID19.

DO NOT SHARE your mask with others.
DO NOT TOUCH with unclean hands.
DO NOT REUSE before washing & drying thoroughly.

Q: Is #COVID19 the same as malaria?

A: No. Although both diseases may present with fever, they are very different.

#COVID19 is caused by a virus while malaria by a parasite. However, an individual can have #COVID19 and malaria at the same time.
