Our Director-General, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa and Director of Surveillance & Epidemiology, Mrs Elsie Ilori joined key stakeholders and health security partners in the recently concluded three-day technical meeting of the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 summit.

The summit themed 'Pushing through the Last Mile to End the Pandemic and Build Back Better' aimed to chart the next steps in the fight against the #COVID19 pandemic.

Lassa fever (LF) remains a major public health challenge in Nigeria. Although the disease occurs throughout the year, more cases are recorded during the dry season between November through May. A total of 434 LF cases & 80 deaths have been recorded since January this year.
