π¨ SCAM ALERT π¨
DEVELOPING! Las Vegas: This morning, around 8:30 a.m., LVMPD responded to a business in the 3100 block of East Sunset Road after a large group of upset people gathered. Victims reported that they had applied for a job opportunity as third-party Amazon delivery drivers, advertised online on January 21.
Applicants were asked to fill out an application and pay a $200 fee in cash, credit cards, or checks. They were told to return for an interview at a later date. Today, when several applicants returned, they discovered the business had been completely vacated by the people responsible. It turns out the job posting was a scam.
As word spread on social media, more victims arrived at the location. At this time, the number of victims is unknown, and our Financial Crimes section is actively investigating.

New Article on an unjust & absurd prosecution.
βthatβs where the heartache is. The State is teaching cops to view this exact scenario as a deadly threat - then prosecuting them when they follow that training. a twisted game of gaslightingβ
On August 2, 2022 Las Cruces, NM police officer Brad Lunsford was involved in a fatal Officer-Involved-Shooting (OIS) with a career criminal (Presley Eze).
The deadly use of force by Officer Lunsford was investigated internally by the Las Cruces Police Department and criminally by the Dona Ana County District Attorneyβs Office.
It was determined that the actions of Officer Lunsford were within department policy, according to training, and in compliance with the law.
The case was over, he was cleared, and Officer Lunsford went back to work.
This next part will sound sickeningly familiar.
Over a year later Officer Lunsford was formally charged with Voluntary Manslaughter by the New Mexico Office of the Attorney General (led by Attorney General Raul Torrez).

Warning graphic!
The Los Angeles Police Departmentβs (LAPD) Force Investigation Division is investigating an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS) in Southeast Division.
On December 28, 2024, at around 11:30 p.m., two victims were standing on the sidewalk in front of a church located in the 1700 block of East 114th Street. The suspect, later identified as 54-year-old Los Angeles resident Kevin Doby, approached the victims, produced an AK style rifle and demanded their property. As Doby attempted to rob the victims at gunpoint, the victims charged him, taking Doby to the ground. As the victims and suspect struggled over control of the gun, Southeast Patrol Division uniformed officers were conducting regular patrol in the area and observed the group fighting.
The officers deployed from their vehicle, approached the group and as they did, one of the victimβs yelled, βHeβs got a gun!β multiple times. The officers broadcast a backup request and gave numerous verbal orders to drop the gun. As the victims continued to struggle with Doby, they attempted to break away, and an Officer-Involved-Shooting (OIS) occurred. Doby, re-armed himself with the rifle and began to run, when a second OIS occurred. During the incident, the suspect was struck by the gunfire and dropped the rifle under a nearby parked car. The officers redeployed and after back-up units arrived took the suspect into custody without further incident.
Doby sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital listed in stable condition. It was later determined that the victims were also struck by gunfire. Kevin Doby was placed under arrest for 211 PC-Armed Robbery.
The victims were transported to a separate hospital and listed in stable condition.
A loaded black and brown AK style, .22 Caliber rifle, and an approximately 3-inch folding knife were located and collected as evidence.
No officers or other community members were injured during this incident.
