"Somebody Knows Something"

After nearly 40 years, Carla Beth Anderson’s family is still searching for answers and closure. Carla was only 23 when she vanished from her apartment in Wadena on November 13, 1987. She was never seen again.

We commend the Wadena Police Department and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for never giving up on this case and continuing to fight for justice.

A $25,000 reward is now being offered. If you know anything β€” no matter how small β€” please come forward. It’s never too late to do the right thing. @MnDPS_BCA

An off-duty Cleveland Division of Police officer was shot and wounded during a late-night incident in Euclid, Ohio. Euclid Police Department say the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday at a residence on Fuller Avenue. Investigators believe the gunfire erupted during a confrontation between individuals at the home. The officer, who was off duty and does not live in Euclid, was struck by gunfire and rushed to the hospital. Thankfully, he is reported to be in stable condition. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and remains the focus of an active investigation.

UPDATE: A shooting at Wilmington Hospital on Tuesday left one employee dead and another hospitalized, prompting a massive law enforcement response and an extensive search for the suspected gunman.

Authorities have not publicly identified the victim, the injured individual, or the suspected shooter. Officials have also not released details regarding a possible motive.

Information obtained by First State Update indicates the deceased victim was a 19-year-old male employee. Sources further indicate that both the victim and the suspected shooter were hired by ChristianaCare earlier this year after completing a taxpayer funded coding and workforce development training program. Those details have not been independently confirmed by law enforcement or ChristianaCare.

The shooting occurred inside Wilmington Hospital, triggering an immediate lockdown and a large response from local, county, and state law enforcement agencies. Officers secured the hospital campus while investigators worked to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

One victim was pronounced dead following the shooting. A second victim was transported for medical treatment. The extent of that individual's injuries has not been publicly released.

Following the shooting, police searched multiple areas of Wilmington while attempting to locate the suspect. Authorities later confirmed the suspected gunman had been identified, though additional details regarding his whereabouts and status have not yet been released.

Investigators remained on scene Tuesday evening processing evidence and interviewing witnesses. Hospital operations were impacted as portions of the facility remained under heightened security.

On June 16, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. One male narco-terrorists was killed during this action, and there were two male survivors.  Following the engagement, USSOUTHCOM immediately notified U.S. Coast Guard to activate the Search and Rescue system for the survivors. NEW: More than 300 residents packed a Pittsburg City CA Council meeting to oppose a proposed data center project, raising concerns about noise, air quality, water usage, diesel backup generators, traffic, and its proximity to homes, schools, and parks.

Many residents said they were unaware the project had already been approved in 2024 and are now calling on city leaders to reconsider. A petition opposing the project has already gathered more than 13,000 signatures.

City officials say the data center would bring millions in tax revenue to help fund road improvements, youth sports facilities, and other community programs. The council said it will continue reviewing public concerns but has not announced any changes to the project.

WATCH: Coast Guard stops runaway boat after operator falls overboard in Maryland.

Video shows the U.S. Coast Guard intercepting and stopping an unmanned vessel after its operator reportedly fell overboard in Maryland waters. The incident has renewed calls for boaters to wear engine cut-off switch lanyards, which can automatically shut down a vessel if the driver is ejected. Federal law requires operators of certain recreational boats under 26 feet to use the safety device while underway.
