Telegram did a big refactoring with new Monoforums. I want to make sure everything works correctly.

Somebody just asked for Swiftgram support on new macOS 26 Tahoe.
Fun fact - internally it’s called macOS 16.

2. How is it possible to send TestFlight feedback without having the app?

Latest beta.swiftgram.app (build 228) adds an automatic fallback mechanism to another backend for Translations and Transcriptions.

Translator was removed in Telegram iOS and Android 11.13 (beta).
My guess it's remotely configured now and should be back soon.

Telegram 11.13 will now be able to remotely change Translation service.

Disabled - translation unavailable in UI.
Server - translated on Telegram servers, as usual.
System - translated on device, for example Apple Translation framework.
Alternative - translated from device with Google API.

Alternative mode uses unofficial Google Translator API and uses random user-agents to prevent bans.

How much it costs to build Swiftgram and what Mac you need?

Telegram's source code contains over 7 million lines of code with hundreds of modules. Most of them are external dependencies, but Telegram team did an impressive work all over the years.

While any recent Apple Silicon Mac will work to just build the app, the code is very demanding and may freeze an entire system. For example, simply opening a project in Xcode to index it may take 5-10 minutes. MacBook M1 Pro becomes unusable during the build. This make debugging and quickly iterating on new features impossible. Somebody from Telegram team said they're using Apple Silicon Max processors to speed-up debugging and development.

I was able to deliver updates much faster than any other fork with my current setup:

1. Maxed out Mac Mini M4 Pro, 14 CPU, 64GB RAM, 1 TB SSD.
This is my main machine that I use to actually code and build the app during development. I don't use Xcode Simulators and use my phone instead, because I need as much system resources as possible.

2. Base Mac Mini M4 Pro, 12 CPU, 24GB RAM, 512 GB SSD
This is my build/cache server for release builds and Continuous Delivery. Once I want to publish Swiftgram to TestFlight or App Store, I simply push the code to it. While it's building millions of lines, I continue working on my Main Mac without any lags or delays.

Both Macs are connected via Thunderbolt 5 with 80 Gbps speed to share build cache across the systems. It can transfer 100 GB in ~10 seconds.

With such a setup, It takes only 14 minutes to build a release version of Swiftgram on a maxed out Mac Mini. And it's even faster with caching!
