Blockchain Fee Reduction
The TON Core team has prepared a blockchain update to reduce fees by 6x, in line with Pavel Durov’s MTONGA plan.
This update includes:
1) Performance improvements
The previous Sub-Second update improved not only operation speed but also overall blockchain performance, making a fee reduction possible. Since then, additional optimizations and performance improvements have also been implemented, including a new mempool based on a persistent Cartesian tree.
2) Fixes
In addition to performance improvements, this update will include fixes for issues identified on mainnet after the Sub-Second release. In particular, it addresses loss of synchronization on some liteservers and rare block rate instability.
Planned Schedule:
April 28, 2026 12:00 UTC — Validator software update.
April 30, 2026 13:00 UTC — Vote to lower gas prices in the blockchain configuration.
Lower fees are important for the next stages of the MTONGA plan. Since fees do not constitute a significant portion of validator rewards, validator rewards are expected to decrease by less than 0.4%.
Mainnet validator operators are asked to be prepared to update their software on 28 April and to participate in the vote on 30 April.

UPD: The initial total was 8.8M TON, not 6.6M, after one earlier 2.2M TON transfer was missed. Telegram has since added another 19.4M TON, bringing total validator-pool funding to 28.2M TON (~$37.2M). Around 4.3M TON is currently active in TON’s Elector contract.

Most people will see Durov’s post and just think “TON is fast.”
But the real point is bigger.
Finality means the moment a transaction becomes permanent and cannot realistically be reversed.
TON finalizes transactions in around 0.6 seconds.
That means payments, swaps, games, mini apps and everything built on TON can feel almost instant.
This is the kind of speed you need when your end goal is not just crypto users, but Telegram’s billion user scale.
TON is not just trying to be another blockchain.
It is being built to feel like the internet itself.
Send everything to billions!

A new in app game for users with Level 5 or higher.
To play, you roll the dice 🎲 emoji in a any chat, be it a group or channel or even a dm with someone, then tap on the emoji that was sent then choose how much TON you want to stake.
Minimum stake is 0.1 TON, maximum is 50 TON.
After tapping “Save and Roll”, the dice rolls and your return depends on the result.
Multipliers go from x0, x0.3, x0.6, x1.3, x1.6, x2, all the way to x7 if you hit triple sixes.
A streak resets after 3 rolls or when the stake is changed.
The interesting part: TON earned from the game can only be spent on Telegram Gifts and posts.
So Telegram is slowly connecting chats, Gifts, posts and TON into one native in app economy.
This is not just a messenger anymore
And guess what, you can easily fund your Telegram account with TON right now from @hotontgbot

A lot of people have been asking how to increase their Telegram level, so let me explain it in the simplest way.
Your Telegram level goes up based on your rating points.
The more rating points you have, the higher your level.
Some ways you can increase your ratings:
1. Buy gifts directly from Telegram
You can access this by going to Settings ➜ Send a Gift ➜ Buy yourself a Gift.
Under the “All Gifts” section, the gifts without the ‘resale’ tag are directly from Telegram.
These gifts are not collectibles (NFTs), they cannot be resold on third-party marketplaces, and most of them are small priced gifts.
But if your only goal is to increase your rating, this gives you the most points because 100% of the Stars you spend counts toward your rating.
For example, if Mr A spends 1,000 Stars on gifts directly from Telegram, he gets 1,000 rating points.
2. Buy resale gifts from other users on Telegram Marketplace.
The gifts with the resale tag are collectibles, also known as NFTs.
These are gifts that other users already own and have listed for sale on the marketplace.
The good part is that these gifts can be held, transferred, and can resold later on their party market places.
But for rating, only 20% of what you spend counts.
For example, if Mr A spends 1,000 Stars on a resale gift from another user, only 200 Stars count toward his rating, so he gets 200 rating points.
3. Spend Stars on paid posts from users or channels
Paid posts do not mean your own posts.
It means content from a user or channel that you unlock with Telegram Stars.
For example, if Mr A spends 1,000 Stars to unlock a paid post in a channel, only 200 Stars count toward his rating, so he gets 200 rating points.
So the simple way to look at it is this:
Gifts directly from Telegram are better for rating points.
Resale gifts are better if you care about collectibles and possible resale value.
Paid posts are just another way to spend Stars, but only 20% counts toward your rating.
And if you need Stars, you can get Telegram Stars from hoton.tg without KYC, then use the Stars however you want inside Telegram.
Also, avoid refunds or converting gifts back to Stars, because that can reduce your rating.
Your level may not update instantly too. Sometimes you have to wait for Telegram’s next rating update, which can take about 20 days.
If you have any questions, you can ask in the comments.

@Durov has been pushing his channel directly to Telegram users inside the app
Seems like he’s about to announce something huge soon, or maybe he just wants more users to stay updated on his plans to Make $TON Great Again👀

Users can now buy Telegram Stars, Premium, and also create Stars or Premium giveaways using $USDT on TON.
This makes payments easier for people who prefer stablecoins, while still keeping everything inside the TON ecosystem.
Important note: Usernames, Anonymous Numbers, and Telegram Gifts still remain TON based.
Don’t forget you can buy stars and premium from @hoton without KYC. We will be integrating $USDT asap following the fragment update.
