💰 Unverified tokens: how to avoid scams

You may see tokens in your TON Wallet marked as «Unverified». In some cases, this could be a sign of fraud. Here’s what you can do to stay safe.

Don’t accept tokens labeled «Unverified» from strangers. Sometimes scammers send fake tokens as payment – for example, in exchange for Telegram gifts. These tokens are made to look like USDT, TON or other well-known assets. Don’t accept tokens from people you don’t trust.

Don’t open any links in the transaction description. If such a token has already appeared in your wallet, just ignore it. Don’t tap on the name, don’t open any links. It could be a phishing attempt.

😱 How to recognize a fake?

● The token has a strange or suspiciously similar name to a known one
● The ticker is missing or differs by just one letter
● It came from someone you don’t know
● The transaction description contains links – that’s a 🚩red flag

😳 What to do if it’s already in your wallet?

● Nothing, just ignore it
● Don’t open any links
● Don’t try to send it back or swap it – it could be a trap

Tokens sent to you without your request don’t give anyone access to your wallet. But any further actions you take with them may put you at risk.

When sharing Collectibles in the messenger, a "Buy more" section is now displayed at the bottom of each NFT. It shows other tokens from the same collection, sorted by the lowest price. This makes it easier to discover more NFTs from collections you like.

From December 9 to 30, Getgems is running a festive Secret Santa event with Telegram gifts.
