• AI chat agents for inactive users: If a contact hasn’t logged in for a month, Telegram builds a language‑model replica from their chat history to reply to new messages.

Media

• Static Videos: New support for static‑video format to improve experience on throttled connections, complementing Motion Photos.
• Square video messages: Only Premium subscribers keep the circular video style; free users will send square‑shaped videos.

Content and Community Quality

• Paid 🤡 reaction: Using the clown emoji as a reaction costs 5 stars, which are automatically transferred to the post’s author.

• Channel “revolution”: Audiences can impeach channel admins for low‑quality content and vote to transfer ownership; each vote carries a fee to deter abuse.

• Family Premium trial: A family subscription is being beta tested, currently limited to Pavel Durov’s 100 children

For a moment I thought tdesktop was getting liquid glass redesign.
I thought then of the kinds of setups it runs on.
I pitied some users.
then I realised it was in fact just the native Swift client on MacOS, and I was glad.

All the ai-pilled devs at telegram, I hope you remember that markdown is objectively a bad language, difficult to parse, and computationally expensive to render.

Of course, vibe coders know none of this.
