Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk is calling for restrictions on Telegram and other anonymous platforms in Ukraine following the terrorist attack in Lviv.

«Once again, we see that the enemy is systematically using Telegram to recruit terrorists, coordinate their activities, and carry out attacks. If protecting our people’s lives requires limiting the capabilities of these platforms, then we must do it».

Interior Minister Klymenko backed the idea, noting that Russian intelligence services communicate with recruits via Telegram in at least half of the cases. According to him, a full ban isn’t the goal, but restricting the messenger’s operations is worth discussing.

Terrorists aren’t tied to any specific app — they can operate on any social network or simply use email. Restricting Telegram won’t stop terrorists. It will only make life harder for ordinary people. People need to use their heads and stop falling for "easy" money schemes online.

A small update regarding content protection in private chats. If you’ve enabled this feature, your chat partner can’t disable it silently. You’ll receive a notification saying "… would like to enable sharing in this chat, which includes" and you’ll need to choose «Reject» or «Accept».

In the new Telegram Beta for Android v12.5.0 (6555), you can now edit stickers that aren’t from your own packs — meaning you can add someone else’s stickers to your own packs.

Open any pack you don’t own, long-press a sticker, and tap «Edit Sticker».

In Telegram Beta for iOS v12.5.0, build 32441, a confirmation dialog was added when listing a gift for sale on the internal NFT gift resale market (not available on TG Beta Android yet).

In build 32464, continuous file uploads were introduced in chats — you no longer need to stay in the chat and wait for files to finish uploading. You can leave the app, and the upload status will appear in Dynamic Island or on the lock screen.

The @BotFather WebApp has been updated. It now includes a new Web Login option «Switch to OpenID Connect Login».
Note that once you switch to the new login type, you won’t be able to go back to the old one.
